Okay, vampire cookies are not as creepy as you think. Once you start taking bites you’ll forget you were freaked out by the mere thought. Chocolate chip cookies sandwich with icing and marshmallow… what a great sugar high. The fun is all in the name and the look. A great treat to make with your kids at home or in the classroom for the annual halloween party. We used store bought ingredients just to make things a little easier for you. All the fun comes in assembling so we don’t want you to tire out baking. However, if you really want a good homemade chocolate chip cookie we have it. And many more cookies where that comes from. Yes, even the icing can be homemade too. If you want to make it yourself try out our vanilla buttercream frosting.
Alternatives to using almonds
If you’re not an almond lover or simply cannot eat nuts then feel free to substitute. Pieces of pretzels or frosted corn flakes are a creative way to create the vampire fang.
Can I make these with other types of cookies?
Chocolate chip cookies are pretty darn great but if you need some other options we can help. A simple sugar cookie works well. Add some sprinkles to make the vampire glitzy. Oatmeal cookies would be a simple alternative if you want the icing flavor to be prominent. Dracula might like peanut butter so that’s one version to try too.

Ingredients

tube chocolate chip cookie dough
- 1
can vanilla frosting
red food coloring
mini marshmallows
slivered almonds
Directions
- Step 1Preheat oven to 350°. Line two large baking sheets with parchment paper. Roll cookie dough into 1 ½” balls and place on baking sheets. Bake until golden, about 12 minutes. Let cool completely then cut in half.
- Step 2Add a few drops of red food coloring into vanilla frosting and stir until smooth. Spread a thin layer of red frosting onto each cookie half.
- Step 3Place mini marshmallows around the round edges of half of the halves. Place the remaining halves on top, then stick a slivered almond on each side to create fangs.
